When we started dove in 2025, we set out to help teams integrate AI into their work in meaningful ways. One of the first challenges we encountered was surprisingly universal: heads of businesses were spending hours—sometimes days—reviewing CVs. The process was not just time-consuming; it was inconsistent, prone to bias, and often missed exceptional candidates buried in the pile.

So we built Petal. A simple, beautiful tool that brings methodological rigor to CV screening.

The problem with black boxes

As AI becomes ubiquitous—like water, flowing through every business process—there's a growing concern about opacity. When an AI system rejects a candidate, on what grounds? When it ranks one person above another, what criteria did it use?

This isn't just a philosophical concern. In hiring, these decisions shape careers and companies. They demand transparency, consistency, and justification.

Every candidate receives a detailed analysis with scores across multiple dimensions. A-players, B-players, and C-players are classified not by gut feeling, but by evidence.

Privacy and principles

We've made deliberate choices in building Petal. Your data is never used to train AI models. CVs are processed in isolated, secure environments and deleted after analysis. We believe that trust is earned through transparency—both in how our AI makes decisions and how we handle your data.

Getting started

Petal is free to use, with one active screening job at a time. Upload up to 100 CVs, define your role criteria, and receive detailed analysis of every candidate in minutes. The top 10 candidates are highlighted with executive summaries explaining why they stand out.

For teams with ongoing hiring needs, we'll soon offer unlimited screening jobs. But we wanted to start by making the core tool accessible to everyone.
